What is a reusable straw?

A drinking straw built to be used more than once. The usual materials are metal, silicone, glass, and bamboo. Durability is rarely what separates them, since most will outlast you. What separates them is how they handle the two things people actually struggle with: getting them clean, and having one on you when the drink arrives.

Are reusable straws worth it?

Only if you use it. A reusable straw sitting in a drawer is worse than not owning one. It cost materials to make and it does nothing. The ones that get used are the ones already on you when you need them, which is the reason wristraw is a bracelet and not something you pack.

What should I look for in one?

Start with cleaning, because that is what makes people quit. If you cannot see inside it or open it, you will stop trusting it. Then ask whether you will realistically carry it, and be honest about that answer. Width matters too, and people forget it: a straw that works for water can be useless for a thick shake.
